Matt Nieslanik -- Team Roper
Matt Nieslanik, Carbondale resident, grew up on a ranch and was taught cattle roping by his father when he was ten. Working on the ranch he often used his roping skills to manage cattle. He enjoyed roping on the ranch and decided to take his skills into the competitive arena approximately 5 years ago. Since then he as been successful at many events and has won three buckles, a saddle and cash prizes. He specializes in roping the head of the steer known as heading. He has a fast horse named Pete. He has taught his two young sons to rope, continuing the tradition.
Kelsea Mulcahy -- Rodeo Queen / Barrel Racer
I have been an active competitor for six years now, but I have had a passion for horses my entire life. The horse that I currently race is named Lightning. She is an eleven-year-old Tobiano Paint/Quarter horse that I have had since she was two. We have a very unique bond because I was the only person to ever ride and train her. I also have a new horse that I am training on barrels now, named Turbo Twang. I usually compete in the local rodeos, last year I won the Snowmass Rodeo Buckle and recently I won a saddle at a barrel race in Eagle. At the rodeos I like to help and watch other events. Occasionally I will be a runner in the Dally Ribbon Roping event. During the winter I attend the University of Wyoming and study Agricultural Business. "Ride 'em like you stole 'em!"
